Stages of Decay

Stage 1 - Limbo

Canines who fall into the first stage of decay, "LIMBO", become very confused and have blackouts. Their memory begins to get fuzzy. They start hearing, feeling and seeing things that are not there. There is an intense feeling of fear. They are being watched, followed, hunted down. In their paranoia, these characters lash out towards others until they have calmed down again. Dogs and wolves who are at this stage are known as "The Lost".

Stage 2 - Lust

After being trapped in their stage of Limbo and confusion, canines will often fall into the second stage of decay, "LUST". As the name suggests, the desire for sexual encounters and sex as a whole flares to the point that the canine can't help but long for children or release. They grow wild and prone to assaults on other canines that, more often than not, will end in violence. How twisted their sexual desires grow, however, are a completely different story. Canines in this stage are known as "Lechers".

Stage 3 - Gluttony

In the third stage of decay, GLUTTONY, canines crave not sex, but flesh and food. They'll devour everything in their path, whether it be prey, plants, litter, plastic, or even another canine along the way. Usually in this stage, they'll find themselves constantly littered with violent stomachaches and other types of illness due to the desire to eat. In this stage, canines are known as "Gluttons".

Stage 4 - Greed

From a desire of food comes a desire to own the world. Canines stuck in the fourth level of decay, GREED, will be overpowered by a possessive nature. It can be over virtually anything, another canine, perhaps children or relatives, or a piece of land. Most of all, they crave power. Pack leaders in a state of greed are more often than not highly manipulative and violent about keeping their borders protected. What usually comes of greedy canines would be a tendency to lash out at anyone who dare come near what they claim is their own. "Mammons", as they're called, will often fight to the death over their precious loot.

Stage 5 - Anger

Irrational rage comes with the fifth stage of decay, ANGER. Canines in this state are easily angered and prone to blowing up on someone for even the simplest of questions. They're rude, violent, and prone to cussing out others. They will often break things or harm themselves in fits of extreme rage, often times attacking others as well. Canines trapped in this stage are most commonly known as "The Depraved."

Stage 6 - Heresy

Stage six is a sign that clearly shows a canine's mental state has fallen into nothingness, or is close to it. Any morals they may have stuck with seem to disappear entirely. They are left without any sense of right or wrong, and do whatever they damn well please. They may not eat or mark borders, or may resort to a completely feral state of mind for short periods of time. "Heretics", as they're called, are usually found going completely against nature itself in this state.

Stage 7 - Violence

Toward the end of a canine's downward spiral into the decaying of their very own mind, they become violent creatures that only seek to destroy. They thirst for blood on their teeth and, in some cases, some may resort to cannibalism. They're violent and not to be trusted, and will usually be found frothing at the mouth and barely speaking any language whatsoever. They are almost constantly in a feral state of mind and easily flung into violent rampages at the slightest hint of a challenge or aggression. Canines trapped in this violent stage are known as "Ghouls".
