Character Creation
Dogs/wolves may be born on site or be brought in from a different place, dropped off at the WESTERN WALL where dogs are locked into the city.
Dogs brought in may be in the process of gaining mutations but background history MUST be provided in bio form and mutations must not go outside guidelines of mutations occurring.
There is no way to escape the City but death.
Characters are at constant risk of exposure to mutations.
No dogs/wolves under 6 months of age unless born on site.
All biographies should be posted on your characters account.Biography CreationAll portions of the biography MUST be filled out completely.
Please be aware there is an EMPHASIS on character description when it comes to the mutations.
Sets under creative commons licenses or with proven permission can be used for visual reference of canine characters on City of Dust.
Sets may be shared between members and such is encouraged by the different appearances each character will have.
Normal Dogs/WolvesCity Of Dust is primarily a place a chance. Many strays, house pets have been stolen from homes and brought for scientific research.
Dogs/Wolves MUST adhere to the weight/height restrictions of their breed.
Normal must not have any mutations - this includes strange/abnormal eye color, unique patchwork on pelts.
Normal means not at risk for an Antiphrenic state or decay.
Mutant Dogs/WolvesHave been scientifically experimented on OR have consumed/had exposure to contaminated sources.
Mutants are at a building risk of an Antiphrenic state and rates of decay.
Mutations have a range of severity and effect. This can be found here.
The more mutations/higher level mutation, the less chance of survival for said dog or wolf.Decay cannot be reversed.
Decaying DogsRisk to any dog with a mutation.
There are seven stages of decay. Found here.
Decaying dogs are at the highest risk of becoming an Antiphrenic and do no operate with full bodily function.
Passes to prevent further decaying can be bought for small amounts of times.
Antiphrenic Wolves/DogsThese dogs are in a decaying state of mindlessness.
Little bodily function, extreme aggression.
Minimal life span, due to being either hunted down and killed or enslaved by packs and groups, or even humans.
Lacking senses, revert into a pure feral state.
Minimal communication ability.LIFESPANSDue to the environment that City of Dust is set in, lifespans are VERY important to consider in dogs and wolves!
While there are some exceptions, this is the general ranges you should be aware of:
Normal Abandoned Dog 12-15 years
Normal Wolf 10-15 years
Minor Mutations 10-13 years
Minimal Mutations 9-12 years
Substantial Mutations with Non-Decay 8-10 years
Decaying - 2-5 years after onset of decay (the older the shorter the lifespan)
Antiphrenic - 1-3 years after becoming one (the older the shorter the lifespan)These are not how many additional years dogs can live, but the average lifespan. Dogs gaining mutations quickly minimize their lifespan - so a long life is considered to be a lucky outcome for most dogs!
