GENERAL RULES

We have a posting requirement of a minimum of 250 words for every post.

We expect good grammar and spell checks performed on each post - although was know no one is perfect.

Respect everyone and their characters; everyone deserves be treated equal here and feel that City of Dust is a safe place to role-play at.

Please keep the c-box a safe place for everyone to talk about; offensive jokes, potentially sensitive topics and strong opinions that may cause hurt feelings are not permitted or should be treated delicately. If there are any issues you may come across, don't hesitate to send a PM to the staff. We'd love to listen and hear what's wrong and try to resolve the issue.

In accordance with Proboards' TOS, you must be at least 13 years of age to join this site.

Please post in the Activity Notices board, if something comes up and you are unable to post in a timely manner. While we understand life happens - it is very much appreciated if you give those you are threading with a heads up when you cannot get around to posting.

ACCOUNT RULES

It is recommended that all members create an OOC account for themselves. These will be used for log boards, contests and other OOC activities.

One account per character.
Worried about remembering all the accounts? Don't, we have a handy dandy account switcher! Log into one account, you can switch to any other account with ease!

Avatars must not exceed 200 x 300.

Signatures are encouraged, but may not stretch the board and shouldn't be overly long.

POSTING RULES

City of Dust operates in liquid time.

Please use reasonable font sizes and colors in your posts.

Swearing within posts is permitted.

Tables and graphics are permitted and are encouraged to be used provided they do not break the width of the board.

There is absolutely no power playing or god-moding without distinct permission for said thread.

Warnings must be put in the title or description of threads containing sensitive subjects.

Threads can, and are encouraged to, be marked Private/Closed or Open.

Open threads may be posted in the Open Thread Board to alert others that they can post with you.

On City of Dust, we PROHIBIT the use of "Wolfspeak". Or, rather, the misuse of synonyms to make your posts sound nicer. (Examples would be orbs/pools = eyes; banner/flag = tail; audibles/dishes = ears; stilts/pillars = legs) It makes things confusing, especially if they're used during a fight. Light use of it every once in a while is acceptable, but if the posts are too hard for the staff to understand we will ask you to refrain from it.

CHARACTER RULES

All characters must have a biography filled out and posted under Character Creation. Please be away that staff must accept the bio prior to you posting with said character.

BREEDING

All dogs/wolves that are attempting a breeding must be over 2 years of age, or a pass can be bought.

Force breeding may occur only with permission.

All breeding threads MUST be completed in order to have a litter and have application received.

Males/Females cannot have more than 2 litters in an IC year, and the second litter will not be as strong as the first for a female on her second litter during an IC year.

Captain Fishlegs will deliver the babies 7 days (real life) after breeding thread has been created.

Interspecies breeding is prohibited. This means a wolf cannot breed with a coyote, hyena, etc. The only hybrids that can be made would be Wolfdogs or Coydogs(Coyote x Domesticated Dog).

FIGHTING

Fighting on City Of Dust operates on two different standings:

- Against Other Characters

Characters must fight with creativity and realism.
Fights can be predetermined or judged by and impartial staff member or staff-assigned member for an impartial view of the fight.

Terms of the fight (post length, dodges/hits number, etc) must be discussed and posted somewhere for impartial judges to view.

Characters must consider their wellness state of a character and susceptibility of injury. Decaying dogs may be at a disadvantage, and Antiphrenic dogs are not about to give up easily as they are incapable of registering the pain.

- Against Oneself (Battle for the Mind)

A dog at risk to become Antiphrenic can have the opportunity to fight against the decay and mind loss.

This fight is internal and often will result in self-inflicted damage.

Dogs in open threads may be vulnerable for outside attack during this state of battle.

If the battle is lost, Mnemosyne will manifest and condemn the dog into a state of Antiphrenia.

PACKS & GROUPS

At this time (17/07/14), City of Dust has the ability to maintain 2 packs and 2 groups.

Pack status is achieved when there is more than 12 members in a group.

Groups are created when a minimum of 5 characters band together to form one.

Auditions will be held for these open slots, and depending on interest may result in the creation of groups!

Groups have a month real life immunity from being challenged to establish their back and get members to help support and prevent an invasion that might over throw. Active packs will not be easily overthrown!

Invasions may occur to overthrow packs and must be done fully in IC, this must be done fairly and done with impartial judging of all fight and conflict that occurs.
